Neither did we.
OX® exists because the watch we believed should exist simply didn’t.
Since then, that idea has driven every line, every component and every decision.
Different by instinct.
Purposeful by design.

THE WATCH THAT DIDN’T EXIST.
OX® did not begin with a business plan to launch another watch brand.
It began with a much simpler problem:
the watch we wanted did not exist.
A mechanical tool watch made for real use.
One with a strong identity of its own.
One willing to question established solutions when a better answer was possible.
Not different for attention.
Different for a reason.
That principle became FROG300.
And FROG300 became the beginning of OX®.
THE ORIGIN.
NOT IN A GARAGE
CABO DE GATA. ANDALUSIA. SUMMER 2021.
The first OX® did not begin in Switzerland.
It did not begin inside a watch company. And it definitely did not begin in a garage. It began at a beach chiringuito facing the Mediterranean in Cabo de Gata, Andalusia.
There, surrounded by the sea that had accompanied him for much of his life, Joseph Bolart drew the first lines of what would eventually become FROG300.
The objective was already clear:
create the nearly perfect diver’s watch.
Useful. Honest. Comfortable. And impossible to mistake for anything else.
The project began in 2021 with those first sketches before becoming a publicly launched brand in 2023 and finally reaching production in 2024.
THE INITIAL BRAND NAME WAS FROG. IN USE, IT BECAME OCEANIX AND FINALLY OX®.
BEFORE OX®
A LIFETIME BEFORE THE FIRST SKETCH.
The obsession did not begin in 2021.
Watches had been part of Joseph Bolart’s life since childhood. Years later came collecting, diving and an intense specialization in Japanese watchmaking, including nearly 400 articles published through Relojes Made in Japan.
He studied watches. Collected them. Reviewed them. And kept finding watches that were almost right.
Almost.
Eventually, commenting on other people’s watches was no longer enough.
He wanted to create one.
STARTING OX-OCEANIX-FROG300 PROJECT (2021-2023)
FROM NOTHING
NO NET.
NO PERMISSION.
NO BRAKES.
Between 2021 and 2024, OX® was essentially a one-man project.
No investors. No production structure. No existing catalog to adapt.
Joseph Bolart developed the watch and the brand from scratch: case architecture, ergonomics, crowns, lume, clasp, straps, graphics and identity.
The concept evolved whenever a better answer appeared: from solar to mechanical GMT, and finally to True Traveller’s GMT, even when that meant starting again.
The easier watch was never the objective.
FROG300 2023- 2024 EARLY MODELS EVOLUTION
THE TURNING POINT
THEN CAME SHENZHEN.
After years of pushing the project forward alone, and after setbacks that came close to ending it, OX® found people in Shenzhen who were prepared to listen. They saw the idea.
They believed in it.
And they helped make it real. On July 30, 2024, the first fully functional FROG300 GMT watches came to life.
More than prototypes.
Proof that OX® existed.

SHENZHEN.
SHENZHEN BY CHOICE.
WE DON’T HIDE WHERE AN OX® IS MADE.
WE’RE PROUD OF IT.
OX® was formally established in the United States in 2023. At the end of 2025, the U.S. company was closed and OX® established its corporate base in Hong Kong. It was a strategic move that brought the company much closer to its production center in Shenzhen.
For us, Shenzhen is more than a manufacturing address. It became part of OX®.
Engineering, specialized suppliers, machining, assembly and quality control are all close enough to let an independent company develop, test, correct and evolve with direct involvement.
The distance between an idea and the person making it should be as short as possible.
2025 WAS THE YEAR OF FROG300 GMT AND FROG300 PRO
HOW WE DO THINGS
DOWN TO THE LAST SCREW.
With an OX®, small things are not small.
Specific case, clasp and construction components are developed for the watch. Materials are selected for what they actually contribute, not for the name on a specification sheet.
The FROG300 case alone requires 19 independent machining operations, followed by finishing, micro-sandblasting and final hardening.
The value should be in the watch.
Not in the rhetoric.

FROG300 was the first expression of that philosophy. Its eccentric architecture, inward-facing crowns, underwater Dive Time control, True Traveller’s GMT and ID+SYS™ were not designed simply to look different.
They were designed to do something.
The same principle now carries into every new OX® project.
Each creation begins with what we have learned before, then asks how much further we can take it.
FROG300 opened the path.
GT takes it somewhere new.

FROG300 was the first complete expression of the OX® idea.
Mechanical. Functional. Eccentric. Unmistakably its own.
It established a design language, an engineering philosophy and a way of understanding the modern tool watch that now extends beyond a single collection.
PRO took it toward pure professional functionality.
GMT combined diving capability with genuine travel use.
And what comes next will carry that experience forward into new territory.
